The first positive test for chronic wasting disease is confirmed in Vilas County.
The Department of Natural Resources today says the county will now have to abide by a three-year baiting and feeding ban in accordance to state law. To help contain the spread of the disease the DNR encourages hunters to have newly harvested deer tested for CWD.
