Coastline Named Marine Sanctuary

A stretch of Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan coastline is now a Marine Sanctuary.

Yesterday, Governor Tony Evers said nearly a thousand square miles are now designated as the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary.  The site will be co-managed by Wisconsin and the NOAA.  Within the boundary of the Sanctuary are 36 shipwrecks.
