Attempt To Tie Border Wall Funding To Infrastructure Bill Denied

An attempt to tie border wall funding to the infrastructure bill under consideration in the Senate is being rejected.

Wisconsin Republican Ron Johnson tried to get the proposal adopted by the Senate, but his colleagues disagreed.  It would’ve prohibited border wall contracts from being canceled, but didn’t get the 60 votes it needed.  Johnson insisted more of the border wall needs to be completed.  The only Democrat to vote for it was Joe Manchin of West Virginia.
