A new program awarding scholarships to under-represented UW students will provide a-million-dollars in funding to the inaugural group.
UW System President Tommy Thompson announced today that nearly 300 students will share the scholarship money this year. The scholarships consider a student’s financial need, time spent volunteering for community service and who has overcome adversity. The scholarships range from a thousand dollars to nine-thousand-dollars.
