Unemployment Boost Stays

Wisconsin is staying in the enhanced federal unemployment program until at least September.

Governor Tony Evers yesterday vetoed a law that would have withdrawn the state from the program that pays people on unemployment an extra 300 dollars a-week. Republican lawmakers and business groups in the state say the extra benefits are keeping people from returning to work. The governor says there’s no data to suggest that’s the case.
