People heading to Summerfest may be on their own this year.
The Milwaukee County Transit System yesterday said it is not going to run buses to Summerfest. MCTS managers say they simply don’t have enough bus drivers. The Summerfest service is one of MCTS’ most popular services. The county says it cannot provide both regular service and the extra buses to take people to and from the Summerfest grounds. Summerfest president Don Smiley says they are now working on a way to ‘fill the void.’
