Traffic Stop Leads to 5th OWI

A Chippewa Falls man picks up a 5th OWI.
It was on Saturday at approximately 9:06 p.m. when a WI State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle for being
called in as a driving complaint. The vehicle was to be weaving from one side of the interstate to
the other and at one point even stopped on the highway. The Trooper located the vehicle and
witnessed lane deviation.

The driver was identified as 65 year old Steven D. Quien and showed signs of impairment. A subsequent
investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Mr. Quien was operating a
motor vehicle while intoxicated.


Mr. Quien was arrested and transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary chemical test of his
blood. He is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 5th offense.
