Work-Search Requirement Reinstated

People on unemployment in Wisconsin have to start looking for work this week.

Lawmakers last week voted to reinstate the state’s work-search requirement. That means anyone collecting unemployment benefits must apply for jobs, and show proof to the state, in order to keep their benefits. Republicans at the Capitol and business groups across the state say there is a desperate need for workers. They say overly generous unemployment benefits are paying people too much to stay home.
