The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is sharing a few grim statistics to end National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week, and encourage safe driving habits.
They say 59-road workers have died, more than five-thousand-people have been hurt, and more than 13-thousand-crashes have happened in the past five years in Wisconsin work zones. This week, traffic safety officials have been encouraging slower speeds through work zones and asking drivers to watch for road workers.
