Madison would become a railroad hub under the latest plan from Amtrak. Amtrak released its ‘aspirational’ 15-year plan yesterday.
Among the new routes would be new trains to Green Bay, Eau Claire, and Minneapolis. Amtrak’s design would have Madison serve as a regional hub. But nothing is final, and some plans are very unlikely. An Amtrak spokesman says the plan is the beginning of a ‘very long conversation.’
