Pink Tax Plan Again Presented at Capitol

Pink Tax Plan Again Presented at Capitol

One Madison lawmaker is once again trying to end Wisconsin’s sales tax on diapers and feminine hygiene products.

Senator Melissa Agard yesterday said diapers, pads, and tampons are not luxury items, and should not be taxed. She says candy bars and potato chips are tax free in Wisconsin. Agard has proposed the same pink tax plan for several years, but it has always fallen short. The state says Wisconsin sees about three-million-dollars a year from taxes on diapers and feminine hygiene products.
