It is the latest snapshot that shows the coronavirus is fading in Wisconsin.
The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said fewer than one thousand people are in the hospital with the virus in the state. DHS says 953 people are in the hospital, and 227 are in the ICU.
Overall, Wisconsin numbers continue to fall. The state’s seven-day positive percentage is now at eight percent, down from 11 percent at the beginning of the month.
When it comes to the measures we have taken to live life amidst the pandemic, at least one Wisconsin Republican wants to end Governor Tony Evers’ latest mask order.
State senator Steve Nass says the legislature needs to override the governor and his latest extension to the state’s mask requirement. The governor added 60 more days to his order on Friday, that means Wisconsin will stay under an emergency order and mask requirement until mid-March. Nass says the governor is overstepping his bounds, and he wants the legislature to reign him in.
