People who live in La Crosse could soon be paying more for flood insurance because of questionable record keeping at city hall.
FEMA back in September said La Crosse is no longer considered compliant with its flood insurance program. That means flood insurance rates could jump ten percent. FEMA says La Crosse failed to keep up-to-date on some of its data, information, and processes. La Crosse has til mid-December to fix the issues, but it’s unclear if that can happen.
