Blake’s Family Reports He’s Paralyzed After Shooting

The father of the man shot multiple times by police in Kenosha says his son is paralyzed below the waist. 

Jacob Blake’s father tells the Chicago Sun-Times today his son is paralyzed from the waist down following Sunday’s confrontation with police.  The elder Blake says doctors are not sure if the condition is permanent.  The shooting has prompted two nights of rioting not only in Kenosha but also in Madison.

An attorney for the family of Jacob Blake is promising a civil lawsuit.

As reaction continues in our state and beyond, a GoFundMe campaign for Jacob Blake has raised over one-million-dollars in just a couple of days. 

The father of six was shot and critically wounded by Kenosha Police Sunday night, setting off riots and protests in Kenosha and in Madison.  Nearly 37-thousand people have donated towards the goal of two-million-dollars. 

An attorney for the family of Jacob Blake says the officer who shot Blake should be arrested.

Benjamin Crump also called for the officers involved to be fired.  Crump says Blake’s life wasn’t treated the same when he was shot and injured by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Crump told reporters great indifference was shown toward Blake and he wasn’t treated with the humanity that’s given to white people.  Crump said Blake’s boys will have psychological problems for the rest of their lives as a result of the shooting.
