Residents concerned about proposed large-scale data centers in western Wisconsin are organizing a regional event next month in Eau Claire.

The gathering, called “Uniting West Wisconsin,” is scheduled for June 13th and will focus on community concerns involving data center development, including land use, water resources, transparency and local decision-making.

The event grew out of opposition to a proposed $1.6 billion data center project near Menomonie that has since been put on hold.

Comedian Charlie Berens will headline the event, which organizers say is intended to help communities learn more about proposed developments and share information about how local residents can participate in the process.

A second community discussion event is planned for June 14th in Knapp and will focus on regional cooperation and community engagement. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS.
