WI DWD Working Through Unemployment Backlog

Wisconsin’s unemployment backlog is now over 600 thousand claims.

The Department of Workforce Development yesterday said more than 620 thousand claims are waiting to be processed. Some of those claims date all the way back to March. More than four million people have been paid by the state’s unemployment office since March, those payments total over three billion-dollars. DWD has blamed the backlog on slow computers and input issues at their office in Madison.
