DNR COULD SHORTEN GROUSE SEASON

Bird hunters in Wisconsin may get a short season this year.

The state’s Department of Natural Resources is considering a plan to close grouse season early.  DNR says there’s been a noticeable drop in the grouse population.  Regulators say they saw a 34-percent drop in grouse activity between 2017 and last year.

Grouse season starts in southeast Wisconsin in October, while it begins for the rest of the state next month.
