Last House Near Foxconn Development Sells

The last house near the Foxconn development has finally sold, for nearly a million-dollars. The Mount Pleasant village board on Monday voted to buy Kim and Jim Mahoney’s home near the development for 950 thousand-dollars. That includes just over 750 thousand-dollars for the home, and another nearly 200 thousand-dollars in relocation expenses. Winning the trophy for America’s best mullet is just the beginning for a western Wisconsin boy. Eight-year-old Emmitt Bailey has big plans now that he’s won first place in the USA Mullet Championships. He beat-out 24 other kids, including another boy from Wisconsin, to win the best mullet competition. Losing in the NFC Championship again didn’t hurt the Packers bottom line. Forbes this week came out with a list of the value for every NFL team. The Packers are 15th on the list, valued at four-point-two billion-dollars. That’s a 22 percent jump from last season. The Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in the NFL, with a price tag of eight billion dollars. Then come the Patriots, Rams, Giants, and Bears.

Milwaukee Brewing Company Taps Out of Fiserv Forum

The Milwaukee Brewing Company says there will be beer at its Fiserv Forum-area taproom, but it’s not clear if it will be their beer. The company yesterday said another brewer will take over after it closes the taproom at the end of the month. The Milwaukee Brewing Company isn’t saying why it is closing the taproom, or who will take over. The taproom’s closure comes as the Milwaukee Ale House is set to close its Third Ward location next month.

Brewers Tenders on Tap For Am Fam Field

Some Brewer legends will be tending bar at American Family Field this weekend. The team yesterday said Robin Yount and pitcher Trevor Gott will be serving drinks at this weekend’s game. Marshfield Cemetery Reminds Of Fall Clean Up

All decorations, containers, shepherd hooks, solar lights and other adornments at Hillside Cemetery must be removed by October 1st for fall clean-up. Items affixed to headstones may stay, (i.e. grave saddles, monument-mounted vases), but any loose trinkets or items stuck in the ground around the stone must be removed. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers  wants to make more tax cuts with the state’s budget surplus.  However Evers likely won’t be able to do anything about it until the next legislative session.  Evers says the state’s expected to have a budget surplus of over five-billion dollars and a rainy day fund of around one-point-seven-billion dollars.

WI Jewel Thief Sentenced

It’s a little more than four years in prison for an Ohio man who admitted to stealing four million-dollars in jewels from a suburban Milwaukee shop. Chippewa Falls Looks To Add Badges

They are looking to hire at Chippewa Falls’ police department. The city yesterday said there is an opening to hire another officer. There are currently 20 cops in Chippewa Falls. Police Chief Matt Kelm says back in 2012 they saw nearly 100 applications for their one open position. That was down to five the last time Chippewa Falls went looking for a new officer.
