A Madison police officer’s car is hit by a suspected drunk driver while they were investigating another drunk driver. Police say they officer was checking on a person that was passed out in the driver’s seat of their car in the middle of the Beltline near Stoughton Road early Sunday morning. They say that’s when another car drove through and hit the officer’s squad car. The officer isn’t hurt and both people are charged with OWI.

Read MoreThe body of a missing UW-Stevens Point student has been recovered. Rescuers pulled 20-year-old Cole Peterson’s body out of the Wisconsin River Saturday afternoon. He went missing about 2 a.m. Saturday. Crews used a drone to find him, then used an ice boat to grab his body. Police in Stevens Point say there’s no reason to suspect foul play in his death.
