Milwaukee has a plan to become the most walkable downtown in the Midwest in the next 20 years. The city is moving ahead with its Connecting MKE: Downtown Plan 2040. Part of the idea is to shift away from cars and trucks, and make the city more pedestrian friendly. Miller Lite looks to be picking-up Bud Light’s former drinkers. Molson Coors is reporting its best quarter of sales since the two beer makers merged back in 2005. The company says sales from April to June jumped 12 percent, to just over three billion-dollars. Molson Coors says Miller Lite and Coors Light sales are now 50-percent larger than Bud Light sales, and 30-percent larger than Modelo sales. You can bet on seeing one of Milwaukee’s Whole Foods on the next season of Top Chef. Crews were in Milwaukee yesterday, filming contestants at the Whole Foods on the city’s east side. Top Chef is shooting its latest season in Milwaukee and Madison, and focusing on Wisconsin’s food scene.

WI State Patrol Troopers and Osseo Police Department responded to a one-vehicle runoff crash on I-94 eastbound at mile marker 91 in Trempealeau County. Upon arrival Troopers and officers found the driver with minor injuries and a female passenger who had succumbed to her injuries. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle lost control during a rainstorm, left the roadway, and struck a tree. The crash remains under investigation by the WI State Patrol.

Wisconsin is one of the best states to live in. That’s according to WalletHub, which ranks Wisconsin the ninth-best state to live in. Some of Wisconsin’s best categories are quality of life, safety, and education in health, ranking in the top 15 in all three. WalletHub says the best state to live in is Massachusetts and the worst is New Mexico.

Rain continues in southern Wisconsin with flood advisories in effect in Madison. The National Weather Service says Madison could see up to three inches of rain by the end of the day. Some places closes to Lake Michigan could see up to four inches of rain. Places from Madison to the east are also at risk to see flash flooding today.

On August 12, 2023, at approximately 5:50pm, a Lake Hallie Police Officer was on patrol on northbound Highway 124 near North Joles Parkway in the Village of Lake Hallie when he observed a tan colored SUV traveling southbound on Hwy 124 for a speeding violation. As the vehicle was stopping, it entered the WalMart parking lot and crossed into oncoming traffic before moving back to the correct side of the roadway, striking the curb and eventually parking. On August 12, 2023, at 12:50 p.m. the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an ATV accident with injuries near 530 Lake Shore Dr in the Village Of Rib Lake , Taylor County. The 911 caller was among a group of individuals driving UTVs and found the injured subject laying on the road unresponsive. Taylor County deputies along with fire and EMS were dispatched. Upon the deputies arrival the unresponsive ATV rider was identified as 48-year-old James C.

Milwaukee once again saw a weekend with a double-digit shooting count. Milwaukee Police say ten people were shot on Friday and Saturday. Both days saw a double shooting. Police say a shooting on Friday sent a 15-year-old to the hospital. No one died in any of the weekend shootings. Milwaukee Police did not make arrests in many of the cases.
