Suspects Identified in Menomonie Gunshot Incidents

At 10:17 p.m. on July 11, 2023, the Menomonie Police Department received a report that a citizen heard approximately six gunshots in the area of 541 S Broadway. Upon performing a search of the area, officers located empty shell casings in the alleyway behind 541 S Broadway. Bullet holes were located in two different unoccupied vehicles. Following preliminary investigation, two suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.There is no further danger to the community. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.

A death investigation is underway in the Township of Washington. On Thursday, July 13 th , 2023, at approximately 7:54pm, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 3400 block of McElroy Court, in the Township of Washington, for an emergency medical call involving two individuals. A psychologist says the Green Bay woman accused of killing and dismembering her boyfriend is not fit for trial. The psychologist testified yesterday that Taylor Schabusiness doesn’t fully understand what is happening. Chippewa Man Facing Multiple Felonies

Prosecutors in Washburn County are pushing felony charges against a local man after a high-speed chase last month. The D.A. is moving ahead with 15 felonies, most of them for recklessly endangering safety, against 50-year-old Chad Rollins from Chippewa Falls. Deputies tried to stop him back on June 25th on Highway 53 near Minong. He sped away. Watermarks Could Land on WI Absentee Ballots

There’s a pitch at the Wisconsin Capitol to add watermarks to the state’s absentee ballots. Waukesha state Rep. Scott Allen yesterday said absentee ballots in Wisconsin need to be more secure. He said they are very convenient, but also present a threat to election integrity in the state. Allen’s solution to place watermarks on each ballot, similar to what the treasury does for dollar bills, to make them harder to copy or forge.
