There will be a local connection to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. Greendale High School’s marching band will be one of the several high school bands to march in this year’s parade. Greendale is the only Wisconsin school invited to this year’s parade. Band director Tom Reifenberg says it is a special invitation, and said there is something unique about the Macy’s parade.

The Wisconsin Senate has approved taxpayer funding for American Family Field renovations. It passed on a 19-14 vote, as well as a companion bill to fund the improvements. The bill will return to the Assembly for concurrence, where Speaker Robin Vos says it will be approved. Afterward, the bill will be sent to Governor Tony Evers, who has expressed support for the bill. Funding for the Richard Dilley Tax Center got a 55-thousand dollar grant for the next year. This means it will stay open to help residents file their taxes for the twenty-third year in a row. The tax resource center, run by UW Extension, has helped low to moderate income residents file their taxes for more than two decades. More than 25-hundred returns were filed last year according to the tax center, giving residents nearly four-million dollars in refunds.

Prosecutors say the man who sped on to the tarmac at La Crosse’s airport over the weekend had a knife and said he had a bomb. The DA in La Crosse yesterday charged 31-year-old Cody Anderson from Wallace, Idaho with a half-dozen charges after police say he drove his car through a locked gate at the airport, ran on to a private plane, and started making threats. No motive has been released to why Anderson went to the airport, or
