A Janesville man is being sentenced to life in prison for a 2021 death in the Wisconsin Dells. A Columbia County judge sentenced Jeremy Mondy on multiple charges, including First-Degree Intentional Homicide. Authorities say police were sent out in February 2021 to check on two people staying in a room at 1015 River Road in Wisconsin Dells. Federal prosecutors say 40-year-old Kenneth Herrera was sentenced to a year and one day in prison yesterday for violating the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act. Investigators say Herrera directed an Indonesian man to harm macaque monkeys in specific ways and paid one-hundred dollars each for videos of the abuse.
