Wisconsin’s attorney general is once again asking for more money for his Office of School Safety. AG Josh Kaul yesterday pushed state senators to approve the plan that would send more money to the school safety 24/7 tip line. The State Assembly has already passed the plan. Lawmakers Send Money to UW

Wisconsin lawmakers are sending the University of Wisconsin the 32 million-dollars they once held-up over DEI. The legislature’s Joint Finance Committee yesterday approved the money, which is now earmarked for workforce development programs. Republican lawmakers held the money, which the university wanted to spend on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and administrators. Millions Set for WI Projects

Wisconsin building projects will get 370-million dollars. Governor Tony Evers approved the funding yesterday. Projects getting part of the money include replacing the Camp Randall Sports Center and building the Regional Forensics Science Center in Wausau. Evers says the projects will modernize and rebuild or renovate buildings for state agencies, universities, and technical colleges.

Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Madison next week. Harris will be on the state capital next Wednesday to discuss apprenticeship programs and union jobs with fair pay. The white House says the trip is part of the Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment. Speeding Leads to OWI

Devontae D McFarland, 27 years of age, from Milwaukee has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16. On 2/27 at approximately 2:41 pm, WI State Troopers stopped a Dodge Charger on Interstate 94 near Osseo for a speeding violation. Gov. Evers Signs Adjusts, Signs Healthcare Funding Bill

Wisconsin will get 15-million dollars to put toward healthcare access in Western Wisconsin. The money comes after Prevea Health and HSHS announced they’ll be shutting down hospitals and clinics in the region. The money can be used for urgent care and OBGYN services, along with any other service needs in the area. Governor Tony Evers signed the bill with a partial veto that broadens how the money can be used — previously, it was just for emergency services in hospitals.

Search Continues, Expands

The search for the missing little boy from Manitowoc County continues to grow. Authorities in Manitowoc County say they’ve searched homes, the woods, rivers, and even a nearby landfill for three-year-old Elijah Vue. Yesterday, police said they’ve even searched in the Wisconsin Dells, where Vue’s mother lived. Elijah has been missing since last Tuesday, but his grandparents say they are not giving-up hope. Hearing Scheduled for Christmas Display Damage

We’re going to have to wait to see what happens to the woman who drove through the Irvine Park Christmas display last December. A judge was supposed to decide on Ebony Hudson’s competency yesterday, but she objected to the report before the judge had a chance to rule on it. Police claim Hudson intentionally drove through the Christmas lights in Chippewa Falls last year. Hudson is due back in court in mid-April for another hearing.

Tomah Business Fire Under Investigation

Firefighters in Tomah have called-in an outside expert to look at the explosion involved in last Friday’s fire downtown. The city’s fire chief, Tim Adler, says the explosion came before the first that burned the Sassy Girl Aroma shop to the ground. No one was hurt in the explosion or the fire, though two firefighters suffered minor injuries while fighting the fire. The chief says they’ve ruled-out a natural gas leak, but he’s not saying what else may have caused
