Superintendent License Remains

School boards will still need to make sure the Superintendent is licensed after Governor Evers vetoed a bill repealing the requirement.  The former principal and school district superintendent said he is vetoing the bill because it lacked standards to be eligible for hire.  Those supporting the bill believe the licensing requirements are too strict  in the state.

Marquette’s March Madness Ends

Marquette Men’s Basketball time in the NCAA March Madness tournament has come to an end.  The Golden Eagles lost to North Carolina State 67-58 in Dallas at the American Airlines Center.  At half the Golden Eagles trailed by thirteen and were unable to recover in the second half.

Three Bipartisan Bills Aiding First Responders Signed

Search Continues, Drones Brought In

The search for that missing Manitowoc County boy took to the air yesterday. Elijah Vue, 3, is still missing.(Two Rivers Police Department) Police in Two Rivers called-in more than 70 drone pilots from across the state to help look for Elijah Vue. He’s been missing since February 20th. Yesterday’s search focused, in part, on the Shoto area. Healthcare Options Change, New Clinics Arrive

There are replacements coming for the loss of healthcare options in western Wisconsin. Oakleaf Clinics yesterday said it will open four new locations in May. The new clinics will replace some of the Prevea clinics that are set to close. Oakleaf’s Chris Longbella says the new clinic will open in Cornell, Ladysmith, Menomonie, and Rice Lake. Prevea announced back in January that it is closing dozens of clinics this spring. Longbella says Oakleaf is also looking to expand urgent care

The Eau Claire County Humane Association’s old building is starting to come down. Crews started demolition yesterday. The Humane Association says it will take a few days to get everything down. Once the building is gone, the Humane Association plans to build a new building on the same site. The hope is to have that building open by summer. But you can meet your new best friend before then! Again? New Push for Recall Efforts

The people who want to oust Wisconsin’s Republican assembly speaker say they are launching a new recall effort. The Recall Vos organizers yesterday said this effort will focus on Vos’ new legislative district. The Wisconsin Elections Commission says the last recall effort, in Vos’ old district, failed because organizers didn’t get enough signatures. Prosecutors in Racine County have opened an investigation into that recall effort after getting dozens of complaints from people who say their signatures were forged on recall
