Just a day after conceding his attorney general’s race to his Democratic challenger, Brad Schimel is being named to serve as a Waukesha County Circuit Court judge. Governor Scott Walker announced the appointment today.  Schimel will replace Judge Patrick Haughney, who is retiring.  Republican State Attorney General Brad Schimel is finally conceding his re-election bid to Democratic challenger Josh Kaul.  The A-G position is decided only by about 17-thousand votes but Schimel said yesterday that he’s not pursuing are count.  Schimel

An Oregon woman will be on probation for over two years after being accused of sending marijuana through the mail.  Police say 45-year-old Heidi Ash admitted to sending multiple packages of the drug to a hotel in Eau Claire and that she planned to sell it to a man named Wade Frederick.  Frederick was also charged in the case and was sentenced to probation as well. *photo credit WEAU 13 NEWS 

Staff members at Western Technical College in La Crosse are getting messy to raise money for summer flood victims.  The School’s student government organized a fundraiser in which some students and staff were given a jar that money could be donated into in the Student Life Office.  Last night, the three staff members who all had the most money got a pie to the face and had all the money donated to victims of flooding from back in August.  Organizers

Attorney General Brad Schimel is conceding to Democratic challenger Josh Kaul. Schimel said he would not seek a recount in the race for A-G, even though the margin of defeat of less than one-percent would allow for one. Schimel said the 17-thousand vote difference is a definitive margin.  Hesays he accepts the verdict of the electorate.  Milwaukee’s top election official wants an apology from Governor Scott Walker.  Walker accused the city of “incompetence” in its counting of absentee ballots during the midterm

Police believe a missing teen might be in Wisconsin.  The DuPageCounty Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Amanda Perrier of Elmhurst, Illinoiswas last seen leaving York High School the morning of November 14th.  She was wearing a beige sweatshirt, blue jeans with a ripped knee, and white Vansshoes.  She is five-foot-four and 140 pounds with long, red hair. 

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is engaging the community in a discussion about factors that impact health locally.  A conversation was held yesterday both in-person and online and was open to all community members.  Another conversation will be held online next week starting on Monday. 

The Township Fire Department in Eau Claire County is looking to recruit volunteers.  The department says call volume has tripled while its volunteer numbers are down.  They are hoping to recruit about ten to 15 volunteer fire fightersto raise their numbers from about 130 active members. 

Renew Church in Eau Claire is collecting new sweatshirts to help support local students.  The church says many children in the community go without basics during winter months.  The clothes will be collected until December 9th. 

A teen’s stolen bike is back with its owner, and funds raised to buy him a new bike will be donated to charity.  Police posted a picture of the bike that was stolen on November 5th on social media, which raised the interest of community members to help the teen.  The bike was located over the weekend, so the teen is donating the funds raised to the Eau Claire Drug Endangered Children Initiative.  

The public is being made aware of a sex offender who will be homeless in Barron County.  He has to report to the DOC and Sex Offender Registry nightly on where he will be staying.  Sheriff Fitzgerald states that he is not in favor of this but at this time he has severed his time and has to be released.   37 Anthony Leritz holds two convictions of second degree sexual assault of a child from both 2009 and 2010.
