SOLO SPLASH AT LACROSSE BEACHES

SOLO SPLASH AT LACROSSE BEACHES

If you hop in the water in LaCrosse this summer, watch your backstroke as the lifeguards may not have your back.

Swimmers at La Crosse’s public beaches will be on their own this summer.  The city’s park board this week decided not to hire lifeguards for Pettibone Beach and Black River Beach.  The city says both beaches will be ‘swim at your own risk,’ though there are plans to offer a swimmer safety course for families who go to the beaches.  La Crosse’s beaches don’t officially open till June 7th, but the city expects people will hit the beach this weekend for Memorial Day.
