September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the public library in Eau Claire is inviting community members to sign up for a new library card or get a free replacement for lost or damaged cards all month. All you need is proof of your current residential address.

Attorney General Brad Schimel says these programs help combat the ongoing fight against opioids and methamphetamine. Schimel said treatment courts are the best thing the criminal justice system has ever done. The state will spend more than six-million-dollars this year for treatment and diversion programs.

The crash happened early this year, in May, at the intersection of County Highway X and XX, near Cadott when Mavrick Kolpien ran a stop sign and turned in front of another car, causing a collision. His passenger, 23-year-old Zachary Evanson, was killed in the crash.

Strong winds knocked down trees and branches in Lake Hallie neighborhoods and the surrounding area yesterday afternoon.
