A man convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Chippewa County in 1993 is being released from prison. David Hager was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 1995 and deemed a sexually violent person in 2008. Hager’s petition to be released was denied in 2014 but a judge recently approved a supervised release plan. Reports say health experts have found he’s not likely to re-offend.

Jon Eric Miner, from Tomah, was stalled on the road about 6:00 on Tuesday when a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper responded to that report on Interstate 94. Miner showed signs of impairment. The D.A.’s office yesterday filed charges against Emmanuel Torres for the fight in Anderson Park last Thursday. Police say Torres got into a fight with another teen, and ended-up stabbing that teen and his father. There’s no word on what started the fight.

He says the hope is to create a new apartment complex that draws people to that side of town. Hagen is still working with planners in Eau Claire.
