POLICE STILL LOOKING FOR SUSPECT IN DRUG RING

One of the suspects in an Eau Claire drug ring is still on the run. Prosecutors say Tamara Howlett will make her first appearance on drug charges this month. The man who police say was her partner, Terrell Wilson, is also facing charges in the case. But he is not yet in custody. Police say the two would buy cocaine in Minneapolis, then re-sell it in Eau Claire.

SEARCH FOR MOM AND BABY CONTINUES

Police in La Crosse say they don’t think a missing mom is in any danger, they just want to make sure her new baby gets to the doctor. Police updated their search for Tracy Cadogan yesterday. Officers say they think Cadogan is still around La Crosse, and they say there’s no reason to suspect foul play in her disappearance. Police say their only concern is her one-month-old baby who never made it to the doctor to be treated for jaundice.

LAWMAKERS COULD THROW FLAG AT UNRULY PARENTS

It could soon cost parents and fans in Wisconsin a lot of money to heckle the ref. The legislation that would make it more of a crime to harass or intimidate refs or umpires carries a 10 thousand-dollar fine. State Rep. Don Vruwink is pushing the idea. POPPING TO CORK ON A NEW YEAR

It is National Champagne Day which of course coincides with New Year’s Eve.  The champagne will be flowing across the state as Wisconsinites welcome a new decade.  The cost of the bubbly is far less in the Badger State than other states because the excise tax is one of the lowest in the country.  Tax Foundation-dot-org says Wisconsin ranks 47th with only a 25-cent excise tax per gallon on champagne, which is about five bottles.

Friends are remembering helicopter crash victim Amy Gannon as a strong businesswoman and a great person.  The Madison, Wisconsin resident and her 13-year-old daughter died last week in Hawaii.  Coworker Heather Wentler says Gannon really lit up the room. MN MAN HEADING TO PRISON IN CONNECTION TO ST.CROIX CO. CASE

A Star Prairie man is going to prison in connection with a Saint Croix County child sexual assault case.  Reports say Rodney Dionne was found guilty in September of first-degree child sexual assault and sentenced Monday to 27 years in prison.  Dionne will then spend ten years on supervised release and register as a sex offender.

MORE STOPS IN CINDER CITY

The city of Altoona has over a dozen new stop signs up.  Police say the stop signs were added last week at uncontrolled intersections in hopes to cut down on crashes.  Some of the stop signs are on Spooner and Bartlett Avenues near the Altoona High School and intermediate school.
