We now know names of those involved in a deadly accident in Washburn County. It was on Sunday afternoon, just after 2:30 when troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Boot Lake Rd. south of CTH B in the Township of Beaverbrook. Democrats Attorney General Josh Kaul and Governor Tony Evers are shifting their approach when it comes to prosecuting unemployment fraud.  In January, Kaul paused all prosecutions against those who fraudulently pursued unemployment benefits to re-assess the Justice Department’s approach.  Kaul is apparently re-evaluating how his GOP predecessor handled the cases.  Meanwhile, agency data shows that Evers is also scaling back unemployment fraud enforcement.  Workforce Development Secretary Caleb Frostman said in the years under former Attorney General Brad Schimel and former

The bond for a Brown County man charged with his wife’s disappearance and murder is set at two-million-dollars cash.  James Prokopovitz is being held at the Brown County Jail.  His wife Victoria has been missing since April of 2013 when she disappeared from her home on Kunesh Road.  The suspect’s girlfriend Kathryn Friday is facing perjury and obstruction charges. 

Preparations are wrapping up as graduates get ready for commencement at Camp Randall. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is expecting thousands of people to attend today’s noon graduation ceremonies which will go on rain or shine.  Drivers need to expect traffic congestion, but they will also find all parking lots open and free for graduation.  People need to be prepared for security checks like they would have for a Badger game.  

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Wisconsin is down two-cents-a-gallon from a week ago.  Heading into the weekend,  Triple-A says the average price statewide is two-dollars-and-83-cents, while the national average is two-87.  Kenosha County and Racine are posting the highest price at the pump at two-96 a gallon.  The lowest average price can be found in Appleton at two-72-a-gallon. 

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is seeking assistance in locating a dog that bit a woman, Monday, May 6, 2019, at approximately 3:00 p.m. The bite occurred along a walking trail in the general vicinity of Eddy Lane near the City of Eau Claire’s Water Treatment Plant. On Friday May 3, 2019 the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint of several deceased cows on a farm near Almena. Deputies responded to the scene and located about 20-25 deceased cows. Initial investigation shows that the cows were deceased over the winter months for several reasons, including winter conditions, illness or from possible stray voltage. Authorities say that all the other animals on the farm were in good health on the farm and have been moved to another

On Thursday May 9, 2019 at 11:47pm the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received an anonymous tip that Trevor Davis was at a residence outside of Cameron.
