An Eau Claire man is charged with his fifth drunk driving offense. Online court records show 27-year-old Devon Thronson was charged after a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 53 near Bloomer. He’s previously been charged for not using an ignition interlock device. Thronson was driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported 638 new positive tests and over nine thousand new negative tests. That continues a downward trend in Wisconsin. The state’s weekly average peaked in late July with 950 positive tests. Yesterday that average number was down to about 660 positive-coronavirus-tests per-week.

Superintendent Mike Johnson yesterday said they are having to shift some teachers to new subjects to help cover online classes. Most of the changes are for first and second grade teachers. Johnson says while the subjects may be new, all teachers already have some knowledge of what they are going to teach. Classes start in Eau Claire on Tuesday.
