WI Vaccine Rollout Slows

More than twice as many people in Wisconsin have gotten a coronavirus shot than who ever tested positive for the virus, but vaccinations have slowed. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported just 52-thousand vaccine doses have been handed out this week. Last week, DHS reported almost 200- thousand doses were put into people’s arms. Charges Continue in Kenosha

The latest charges from Kenosha’s nights of violence are for looting. The D.A. in Kenosha filed charges yesterday against 25-year-old Antoine Simpson and 23-year-old Rhyanon McNab. Police say the two were caught on a security camera stealing from the Uptown Beauty store in Kenosha. Both are facing felony burglary and theft charges, and they are both being held on five-thousand-dollars bond.

Business Groups Call for Polishing “Clean Up” Language

Wisconsin’s largest business group wants a judge to force the state’s Department of Natural Resources to be more clear about the rules for environmental clean-ups.  Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce filed a lawsuit yesterday. The suit accuses DNR of ‘unilaterally and unlawfully’ changing the rules for the state’s voluntary clean-up program. Deadly Dunn Co. Crash Leads to Arrest

A deadly crash leads to an arrest. It was just before 4 in the morning on Monday, February 22nd when Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol, along with deputies from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office responded to I-94 near milepost 55 for a one-vehicle rollover crash with injuries. WI Adds Over 700 New COVID-19 Cases

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic is now over 561-thousand.  The state Department of Health Services reported 747 new cases today.  There were also 25 additional deaths confirmed, bringing the death toll to over 63-hundred-and-40.  There are over 84-hundred active COVID cases in the state. WI Cold Case Now on FBI Website

The case of a man missing from North Fond du Lac since 1995 is now on the FBI website.  James Ruland was last seen October 26th, 1995 hitchhiking in North Fond du Lac.  His car was found a month later at the Stretch Truck Stop near North Fond du Lac.  His personal items were in the vehicle and the keys in the ignition.  Ruland’s DNA profile has been entered into the nationwide database.  His family is offering a 15-thousand-dollar reward

Local Hospitalizations Down

Hospitalizations are down significantly in Eau Claire. Local hospitals were treating nearly half of their patient populations for COVID-19 in November and December, but those cases have gone down to just a few patients today. There are 30 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the Northwest region of Wisconsin, according to the state health department.
