The plan to build a casino in Beloit is being opposed by anti-gambling groups. Citizens Against Expanded Gambling and Wisconsin Family Action want Governor Tony Evers to disapprove the casino plan. The activists say the state’s 25 casinos are enough. Beloit City Manager Lori Curtis Luther says the project means jobs for the local economy. Governor Evers gave his approval this week.

Yesterday, Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez announced the school has hired Marisa Moseley as head coach of the women’s basketball team. Moseley comes to Madison after a three-season stint as head coach of her alma mater Boston University where she has made her mark with a 45-29 winning record. Before that she was an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut.
