Political Rumblings for Lt. Gov. Barnes

The Democratic race for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin may soon be more crowded. Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes this week hired former Democratic Party of Wisconsin executive director Kory Kozloski as a political adviser. Many politicos say it’s a sign that Barnes is getting closer to entering the race for Senate. Five candidates, including Alex Lasry who is the son of the Bucks’ owner, are already in the race. Barnes has not declared anything about his political intentions next year.

WI 2nd Amendment Sanctuary?

Lawmakers at the Wisconsin Capitol want to declare the state a Second Amendment sanctuary, but it’s not going to happen. Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate approved a plan that would put the state on the record as being against a federal gun registry, federal gun seizures, and as being against certain federal gun laws. Brew Crew Welcomes Back Full House For Fans

 The return to full capacity at American Family Field is a return to work for a lot of people. Brewers president Rick Schlessingger wrote a letter to the governor and Milwaukee’s mayor this week, saying the team will hire three-thousand people to work at the ballpark. Convicted Killer To Have Competency Exam Before Sentencing

 A teenager convicted of killing his grandparents is ordered to undergo another competency exam.  Alexander Kraus pleaded guilty to killing his grandparents in their Grand Chute home in 2019.  He is scheduled to be sentenced in August but the defense says his mental condition has declined and they requested another competency review.  The judge approved the exam today.

Search Warrant Leads to Arrest Of Cumberland Man

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 4pm the Barron/Rusk Emergency Response Team served a search warrant at 1215 Island Ave in the City of Cumberland. The reason for the warrant was for possession of child pornography. The target of the warrant was not at home but was later taken into custody without incident. Search for Suspects Continues

Police believe they’re searching for three to five suspects of a burglary in the Princeton Valley area this morning. The Eau Claire Police Department posted to Facebook saying the suspects were interrupted while breaking into a business and ran from the scene. Police say they’re likely looking for two men and at least one woman who were all wearing ski masks. They say it’s possible they could steal a car to try and skip town. Marshfield Woman Dies, Son Hospitalized

A missing Marshfield woman is found dead and her son is hospitalized. The Price County Sheriff’s Office says Barbara Wilson was reported missing Monday and later found. Her son Dale Wilson is hospitalized in Medford. An autopsy is planned to determine a cause of death. Police believe Barbara died of exposure, like extreme heat or cold. It’s unclear if they were found outside.

WI Murder Suspect Speaks Out

The woman accused of poisoning her friend with eye drops says her friend was an addict, and tried to kill herself several times. Channel 12 says Jessy Kurczewski sent them a 12-page letter explaining her side of the story. Prosecutors say Kurczewski filled a water bottle with eye drops and gave it to her friend back in 2018. Water Safety On Deck at WI Beach

There are lifeguards at North Beach in Racine, but city and county leaders say they need to do more to make the beach safer. Mayor Cory Mason and Sheriff Christopher Schmaling yesterday said they are looking at what to do at the beach. A 17-year-old drowned at North Beach on Saturday, and two teenage girls had to be pulled from the water on Monday.
