It is a major coronavirus-vaccine milestone for Dane County. Public Health Madison and Dane County yesterday said 70- percent of people in the county have now gotten at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The Eau Claire Police Department is notifying the public of a sex offender to be released to our area. 34-year-old James T. Jones was convicted of 2nd degree assault of a child in 2009 and will be residing in a temporary housing unit on the 600 block of S. Barstow Street. As part of terms of the release, Jones must comply with all lifetime sex offender registration rules as well as GPS tracking and other stipulations.

Students at University of Wisconsin-Stout this fall will have more reasons to get the vaccine: Scholarships and prizes. On Sunday, the UW System announced its 70 for 70 student vaccination campaign. At each campus, excluding UW-Madison, once 70% of students are vaccinated, a portion of 70 scholarships will be awarded.
