The technical colleges in Madison and Milwaukee are using some of their coronavirus stimulus money to pay-off past due tuition costs. Milwaukee Area Technical College says it will spend nearly six-million-dollars to wipe out student debt. The agreement spares Milwaukee from any further lawsuits from the former chief and allows the city to hire a new permanent police chief. Morales sued after he was pushed-out last summer. Wisconsin Assembly Republicans failed today in an attempt to override the governor’s veto, falling short of the two-thirds majority needed.
