Wisconsin’s wolf hunt likely won’t last long this year. The state’s Department of Natural Resources last week set a limit of 130 wolves killed this year. Hunters and trapped bagged 218 wolves in just about three days earlier this year. DNR and activists came down hard on those numbers. Advocates think 130 wolves is too many as well. Wisconsin’s wolf hunt is scheduled to start November 6th this year.

The former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice in charge of one of the state’s election reviews says it’s all about trust. Justice Michael Gableman was on UPFRONT on Milwaukee TV over the weekend. He said the goal of his review is to make sure that people in Wisconsin trust that their vote is counted, and that it counts. Gableman said he’s not looking to overturn the November election. There will be no Oneida Pow Wow this year. The tribe last week announced it is canceling the Pow Wow, which was set to run at the end of the month. The tribe says the spike in coronavirus activity was the major reason to cancel. Oneida leaders say they are looking at the possibility of having a virtual Pow Wow instead.

It will likely take some time, but a flood of evictions are coming to Milwaukee and southeast Wisconsin. The CDC’s ban on evictions ended Sunday, it had been in place since last September. Milwaukee County judge William Pocan says it could take a few weeks or a month before the eviction filings come pouring in, but he says they will come pouring in. Two people are in the hospital after their small plane went down in Washington County.  The plane fell into a field near the Town of Hartford west of the Hartford Municipal Airport yesterday morning. The two aboard, a flight instructor pilot and a student pilot were both found alive and were hospitalized.  A Washington County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post says the crash survivors’ current condition is not known.  The report says the FAA Milwaukee Office is investigating.

A crop-dusting helicopter pilot survives after his craft hits electric cables and crashes.  Columbia County Sheriff’s investigators say the helicopter hit the high wires yesterday morning while cropdusting over a field in Randolph Township.  The pilot was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.  The Sheriff’s office and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating what happened.

Seven tornadoes are now being confirmed in Wisconsin from a string of severe thunderstorms that swept across the late Wednesday night and early yesterday morning.  The National Weather Service says the latest confirmed tornado is an EF-0 in Waukesha County.  It’s the fifth tornado confirmed in Southeast Wisconsin.  The two others are in the northwestern part of the state.   All the tornadoes are of EF-1 and EF-0 strength.
