Investigation, Charges Continue in Dunn Co. Homicide Case

A second suspect is in custody as part of the Dunn County quadruple homicide investigation.  On Friday, Gilbert, Arizona Police confirmed that Antoine Darnique Suggs turned himself in.  Dunn County Sheriff Kevin Bygd says Darren Lee Osborne was taken into custody earlier this week in Minnesota.  Both suspects are accused of hiding a corpse but so far don’t face other charges. Body Recovered From Devil’s Lake

A man’s body is found and recovered from Devil’s Lake.  The Sauk County Sheriff’s office says the 55-year old was on an outing with his family Friday.   He was swimming off the south shore beach when he went under and didn’t come back up.  Sauk County Sheriff’s office and Department of Natural Resources personnel worked together in the recovery of his remains late Friday.

Grads Take the Stage After Delay

 A graduation celebration in person is in the books finally for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Class of 2020.  The event was held at Camp Randall yesterday.  School officials say thousands of friends and family were in the stands as around 25-percent of the graduating class was present on the field.  Graduates received their degrees officially last year in an online event after the in person ceremony was canceled due to the COVID-19 emergency.

Season Hits Bullseye With WI Hunters

It’s bow hunting season in Wisconsin.  Yesterday the archery and the crossbow seasons kicked in and both will run through January 9, 2022.   The Department of Natural Resources has valuable safety advice for hunters in general and on archery and bow hunting specifically.  Hunters are also reminded to register with the DNR all harvested deer by 5:00-p.m. on the day the animal was taken.  Visit DNR-dot-Wisconsin-dot-Gov for more information.

Summer Hangs On

The weatherman says conditions will still be summer-like for most of the weekend. Highs today are expected to reach the upper 70s and on Sunday into the 80s.  Lows will stay mostly in the 50s.  Rainfall is not in the picture until Monday and Tuesday when scattered thunderstorms return to the forecast.  Highs will drop into the 60s starting on mid week when we might start to feel more like a traditional fall. Goodwill Accepting Donations for Refugees

Thousands of Afghan refugees get a helping hand from a Madison non profit.  Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin is collecting items for the refugees.  The organization’s 13-locations are taking in donated items.  Goodwill’s Janet DesChenes says everyone who wants to help now can do so more easily without having to make the drive over to Fort McCoy themselves.  Donated clothing and other necessities for the refugees should be new, not used.

Capitol City Congestion Continues

Some congestion is to be expected a while longer on the Beltline during the revamp project now underway.  Department of Transportation official Steve Theisen says some weekend work is scheduled.  The bulk of the work is weekdays from 9:00-a.m. till 2:00-p.m. with a short break and then back again for night work from 7:00-p.m. to 6:00-a.m. the following morning.  Theisen says repaving along with barrier wall fortification and new flex lanes are part of the project which lasts into next

Second Suspect in Custody

As an update to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office’s quadruple homicide investigation, Antoine Darnique Suggs, date of birth 06/26/1983 turned himself into Gilbert, Arizona Police Department today on our warrant. Suggs has been living in the Phoenix, AZ area recently before traveling back to Minnesota in the last couple of weeks. At this time, it’s unknown how Suggs traveled back to Arizona this week. Suggs has not been interviewed yet so we have no new information to release at this
