Thousands of Wisconsin tenants could face eviction by the end of this year.  The federal moratorium on evictions ends on Saturday and a survey by Quote Wizard by Lending Tree shows ten-percent of Wisconsinites are behind on their rent with 36-percent of those facing eviction.  Of those facing eviction across the country 27-percent are women and 22-percent are men.   One major problem is housing costs have risen nationwide by nearly 70-percent in the last ten years while income is up only 30-percent. 

Cardinal Raymond Burke says he is recovering slowly from COVID-19.  In a letter posted on his website this weekend, the Cardinal says he is rehabbing at home and still has difficulty breathing and is dealing with fatigue.  Burke contracted the disease in early August and was put on a ventilator around the middle of the month.  He was able to be removed from the ventilator and left the hospital on September 3rd.

Bob Dylan is opening his Rough and Rowdy Ways world tour in Milwaukee.  The iconic singer-songwriter announced today he is going on tour this year and will perform through 2024.  He is scheduled to take the stage at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee on November 2nd.  Tickets go on sale October 1st. 

No injuries were reported and a cat was rescued by Firefighters. The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a fire alarm within the Oxbow apartment complex. On arrival, crews found smoke in a hallway on the second floor; upon further investigation fire was located in apartment #235. The St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center received numerous 911 calls at about 5:35 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2021, in regards to a vehicle that was driving poorly. Motorists advised that on I-94, near milepost 10 in Warren Township, a vehicle had entered the median, driven back out, and was now swerving as it continued eastbound on I-94. On Sunday September 26, 2021, at approximately 1:20PM, Eau Claire Police Officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of E. Clairemont Avenue at University Avenue. The initial  responding officers found two vehicles which had sustained severe damage as a result of the crash.  One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The body count from Milwaukee’s latest violent weekend is at one and the city’s shooting tally stands at 14. Milwaukee Police say more than a dozen people were shot between early Saturday morning and late last night. That includes five people who were shot between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. yesterday.
