Three Suspects in Custody After Deadly Bar Shooting

Police in St. Paul, Minnesota say three suspects are in custody after a bar shooting left one person dead and more than a dozen others wounded.  The mass shooting happened just after midnight at the Seventh Street Truck Park, a bar and eatery near the Xcel Energy Center where the Minnesota Wild play hockey.  The three men believed to be involved in the shooting are being treated at the hospital before being booked into jail.  Investigators have not yet released

WI Sports: Brewers Fall, Bucky Rises

Milwaukee falls to Atlanta 0-3 in postseason action.   Max Fried notched the win for Atlanta while Brandon Woodruff collected the loss for the Brewers.  Atlanta and Milwaukee are tied 1-1 in the National League Division Series.  Next The Brewers travel to Atlanta for Game Three on Monday Wisconsin grabs a road win with its 24-0 defeat of Illinois.  Chez Mellusi and Braelon Allen both had over a hundred rushing yards for the Badgers in yesterday’s win.  Wisconsin hosts Army next Saturday.

Coastline Named Marine Sanctuary

 A stretch of Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan coastline is now a Marine Sanctuary.  Yesterday, Governor Tony Evers said nearly a thousand square miles are now designated as the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary.  The site will be co-managed by Wisconsin and the NOAA.  Within the boundary of the Sanctuary are 36 shipwrecks.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating an officer involved death (OID) in Chippewa County, Wis. that occurred on the evening of Friday, October 8, 2021. On the evening of October 8, 2021, a Chippewa County Sheriff’s sergeant initiated a traffic stop with a subject on a moped in rural Chippewa County. Cause of 3rd Street Fire Remains Under Investigation

The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the residence at 2626 3rd Street. On fire crews arrival smoke could be seen coming from the roof and attic vents. The fire was quickly controlled by fire personnel. Fire damage was contained to the attic but the whole residence suffered smoke and water damage. Damage is estimated to be $21,000. Two residents were assisted with shelter by the American Red Cross. There were no injuries and

Jobs Report Shows WI Working to Bounce Back

A new jobs report shows Wisconsin is still down compared to pre-COVID job numbers.  Yesterday, a workforce development report showed the state has recovered more than half of the four-hundred-thousand jobs lost to the COVID-19 shutdown.  Workforce Development’s Dennis Winters says the state is still down by more than a hundred-20-thousand jobs.

Measles Cases Confirmed, Risk Remains Low

Cases of the measles are confirmed among Afghan refugees living on Fort McCoy.  State health officials say 22-people have been treated for the virus from among those who are from Afghanistan living in the refugee shelter there. The report says there is low risk for the community at large.

 That ’70s Show is getting a spin-off more than twenty years since the original first aired. Netflix has green lit a new series which will appropriately be titled “That ’90s Show.”  Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will lead the cast, reprising their roles as Red and Kitty Forman.  Set in Wisconsin in 1995, the show will follow Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, as she visits her grandparents for the summer.
