The Madison Police Department plans to hold several public forums on the possibility of putting body cameras on all officers. The first forum is Thursday at University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Memorial Union. The DMV says several people have complained about fake text messages asking for personal information and a credit card number to validate their driver’s licenses. The DMV says it doesn’t send out texts like that, and is warning it is 100-percent a scam.

Prosecutors filed theft charges yesterday against 34-year-old Jessica Guthman from Holcombe. Investigators say she would ring-in items as cash sales, then pocket some of the money. She was caught after the store’s owner noticed a dip in profits. Guthman is looking at 10-years in prison if convicted.
