Former President Donald J. Trump says Sean Duffy would make a great Governor of Wisconsin.  WisPolitics-dot-Com reports that yesterday Trump said he is encouraging the former U.S. Congressman to run.  Duffy was elected to Congress in 2010 and resigned in 2019.  The report says, so far, Duffy has not announced a run for Governor although he is considering Trump’s recommendation.

U.S. Congressman Mark Pocan calls for Michael Gableman’s removal from the state assembly’s election probe.  Pocan said yesterday someone other than the former state supreme court justice should be in charge of the 2020 election investigation proceedings.  Pocan characterized Gableman as showing a lack of professionalism.  Assembly speaker Robin Vos says Gableman and the investigation into election integrity will continue and should be an issue with bipartisan support.

The Fond du Lac sheriff says a man and his baby who went missing overnight are both found safe.  Authorities say Jordan Smack and his four-month-old daughter were found at a home in Fond du Lac this morning.  They had been missing since last night when the car Smack and his daughter were riding in was in a crash.  He walked away from the scene with the little girl and the driver was not able to reach him for several

The oldest military band in the country will play at Camp Randall.  The Wisconsin Badgers host the Army Black Knights tomorrow night and West Point features it’s band established in 1817.  That makes it the oldest continuously serving Army Band.  The Badgers are coming off a shutout win over Illinois and have a 1-and-2 record at home and a 2-and-3 mark overall.  Kickoff tomorrow is 7 p.m.

The average price for regular gas in Wisconsin is just a penny higher than a week ago and 19-cents lower than the national average.  Triple-A says the cost of gas across the Badger State is three-dollars-and-eleven-cents today while the national average is three-30.  Drivers are paying three-oh-three in Appleton, three-oh-eight in Madison, three-oh-nine in Milwaukee and three-eleven-a-gallon in Green Bay.  The price at the pump in under three-dollars a gallon in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh.

It’s been a year since police found a former UW-Madison student dead at Devil’s Lake State Park. Investigators yesterday said they are not giving-up on finding 24-year-old John Schmutzer’s killer. He was stabbed to death in what police are calling a random killing. The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office says they’ve taken DNA samples from eight possible suspects, two have been cleared and they are waiting for results on the other six. It is National Cheese Curd Day, and Culver’s is celebrating by offering its regular butter burger with a giant, fried cheese curd on top.
