The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) confirms that a white-tailed deer from an Eau Claire County hunt ranch has tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD). Positive samples from a 3-year-old buck were confirmed by the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, Iowa. Yesterday, commanders say they don’t believe the remains have anything to do with the nearly 13 thousand Afghan refugees staying at the fort, or any of the soldiers who serve there.
