Some students in La Crosse are ready to ask their local school board to keep their school resource officers. Three teens, Adam Manka, Mason Muth, and Jack Murphy, say they have 300 signatures for a petition that supports the officers. The latest snapshot of Wisconsin’s coronavirus hospitalization numbers show a lot fewer people with serious cases of the virus. The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said just 27 people are in the ICU across the state with the virus. Overall, there are just 172 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Wisconsin. That’s down more than 60 people from just last week.

 University of Wisconsin-Madison is named one of the top family medicine programs in the country.  U.S. News and World Report says Wisconsin ranks fifth on its best family med programs list.  U.S. News and World Report also ranks Wisconsin 37th for research medical schools and 20th for primary care.

A Wisconsin native comedian is set to perform on the Wisconsin State Fair Main Stage this summer.  Charlie Berens  will play the Main Stage as part of his Midwest Survival Guide Tour on August 10th.  Berens was born in Wisconsin and graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009.

Authorities are searching for two drivers who are accused of killing a Twin Cities man in a hit-and-run crash in River Falls, Wisconsin.  The Saint Croix County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance photos yesterday of the suspects.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO AND PICS. They allegedly struck and killed 27-year-old Joshua Thesing of Ramsey on March 6.  Photos show both vehicles heading south on Main Street in River Falls.

Police in Richland Center identify a man who was recently found dead along a walking path.  Police say Peter Schoepp of Richland Center was found dead in the Pine River Prairie earlier this week.  Police say Schoepp was reported missing back in November.  Foul play isn’t suspected in his death.

West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (WCWRPC) is administering two grant programs for Eau Claire County. The programs were established using a portion of the funding provided to Eau Claire County under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA); the County has allocated a total of $2,000,000 for these grant programs.  It remains to be seen just when and where Darrell Brooks Jr.’s trial for the deaths of six people in last year’s Waukesha Christmas Parade will take place. Brooks was in court in Waukesha yesterday. His lawyers once again asked for a delay, and to move the trial. His lawyers continue to say they don’t think he can get a fair trial in Waukesha.
