Eau Claire schools don’t have any more rapid coronavirus tests, and they’re not likely to get any more for a while. The city’s school district yesterday said it has run out of antigen tests. WI Hospitalizations Climb

Wisconsin’s coronavirus hospitalization numbers continue to climb. The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said over 22-hundred people are now in the hospital with the virus. That includes over 480 people in intensive care. Both of those numbers are up from last week. The Hospital Association is not saying how many of those people are being treated solely for the coronavirus, and how many of those people are in the hospital with another health concern.

Lawmaker Wants to Disband the Stadium District

There’s now talk of a lawsuit if Wisconsin lawmakers change how the Green Bay Packers get money for Lambeau Field. Green Bay state Rep. David Steffen wants to disband the Stadium District, give some of its money back to taxpayers, and allow the city of Green Bay to take over maintenance and management of Lambeau Field. Add this to your streaming list.  The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association yesterday announced that this year’s World Champion Cheese Contest will be streamed online.  The Cheese Makers are moving the contest online because they are not allowing an in-person crowd.  The Cheese Makers say the contest is the premier technical cheese, butter, yogurt, and whey competition in the country.  It’s been held in Madison since 1957.  This year’s contest begins March 1st.

WI Reaches Record COVID-19 Hospitalizations

Madison hospitals are taking care of the most coronavirus patients since the start of the pandemic.  Public Health Madison and Dane County says hospitals are taking care of 184 coronavirus patients, five more than the previous pandemic-high back in November 2020.  Wisconsin hospitals as a whole are less than 20 coronavirus patients away from reaching their all-time high.

No Serious Injuries After Wausau Fire

 No serious injuries after an apartment fire in Wausau.  The fire broke out early this morning on a porch at an apartment complex in the two-thousand block of Grand Avenue.  The fire department says everyone made it out safely with one person suffering minor injuries.  The building has enough damage that no one’s being allowed to stay inside.  The cause hasn’t been determined.

Two Charged After Local Credit Card Thefts

On December 31, 2021, at 12:40pm, Lake Hallie Police received a report of a stolen credit card at the Wal-Mart Store, 2786 Commercial Blvd, Lake Hallie. The victim stated the credit card was used to make a $646.66 purchase at Farm and Fleet, located in the Village of Lake Hallie, on December 24th. Through further investigation, the Lake Hallie Police Department identified Anthony Williams (age 23 from Boyd) and Kaitlin Gadke (age 20 from Boyd) as suspects. On January 4,
