Rittenhouse Back in Court

Kyle Rittenhouse is back in court today where a judge will decide if he’ll get his bail back and his rifle used during the deadly shootings in Kenosha.  Rittenhouse says he wants the rifle back and the clothes he wore that night so he can destroy it all.  Rittenhouse’s bail is worth two-million dollars, but there’s still a discrepancy over whether he’ll get the money or part of it will go to his former lawyer.

Fire Damages Mobile Home in Rice Lake

Rice Lake Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a Structure fire at 2136 20 1/8 th Ave 92. in the City of Rice Lake on January 27, 2022 at approximately 5:35 P.M. Lake Hallie Mourns

Lake Hallie’s police department is mourning the loss of one of their own.  Officer Michael “Tony” Hudson passed away last week, he was 47. Lake Hallie’s police chief said Hudson was a part-time officer and a full time social worker in the city.  Hudson is being remembered for his dedication to the job.  According to the Lake Hallie Facebook Page Officer Hudson’s visitation and funeral will take place this Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Jacob’s Well, located at 3211 N 50th

Persons of Interest Questioned, Still No Motive or Answers

Checks or Tax Cuts? Surplus Static Continues

Election Machine Maker Not Cooperating With Probe Request

The maker of voting machines used in Wisconsin in 2020 is not cooperating with the state’s special election investigator.  Attorneys for Election Systems & Software last week told former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Mike Gableman that they will not send him a trove of information about their machines.  Election Systems says Gableman’s subpoena is a “fishing expedition.”  Gableman is continuing his probe into what happened in the 2020 election.  That probe is supposed to be complete by next month.

Outside Lawyers Get Green Light

Lawmakers in Wisconsin can hire outside lawyers, and pay for them with state money.  The Wisconsin Supreme Court yesterday ruled that lawmakers can turn to lawyers not already on the state payroll.  The ruling came as part of a challenge to Wisconsin’s to-be drawn political map.  Republican lawmakers hired lawyers to help with their map, and wanted to use taxpayer dollars to pay for them.

WI Hospitalizations Continue Downward Trend

It looks like Wisconsin’s coronavirus hospitalization peak has passed.  The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said just over 17-hundred people are hospitalized with the virus.  That’s a drop of more than 320 people from last week.  The Hospital Association says 362 people are in ICUs with the virus.  That too is down from last week.
