Suspect Arrested, Community Bands Together

A suspect is under arrest in connection with the death f Lily Peters.  Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm says they arrested a juvenile on suspicion of killing 10 year old Illiana “Lily” Peters.  No word yet on how the two were connected.  Police found Peters’ body on Monday in a wooded area after her family reported her missing on Sunday night. Effort Underway to Create “Lily Alert”

A push is underway to create a new alert system following the murder of Lily Peters in Chippewa Falls.  Lily was reported missing on Sunday night and police knew what she looked like, where she was riding her bike to and that she didn’t make it home.  However, it wasn’t enough to issue an AMBER Alert.  AMBER Alerts are issued for children who are in serious danger of bodily harm or death and require descriptions of the child and a

Pigeon Falls is celebrating the life of one of its longest-living residents — 105-year-old Reynolds Tomter.  Tomter is a World War Two veteran who has lived in Pigeon Falls for more than 80 years, ran the Pigeon Falls Store for decades, helped start the city’s fire department and founded its Lion’s Club.  Yesterday, the man called Mr. Pigeon Falls enjoyed a birthday celebration from the town to mark his 105th birthday.

Survey Addresses Local Health Needs

Case Against Man Who Threatened EC School Board Continues

A California man charged with threatening publisher Merriam-Webster over its gender definitions is also charged with threatening to shoot up an Eau Claire school board meeting.  Authorities say Jeremy David Hanson from Orange County, California, has been charged with sending anonymous threats of violence to businesses and individuals across the country.  He allegedly threatened Merriam-Webster for including references of gender identity in its definition of female.  He threatened the CEO of the Disney and his family for quote — promoting

COVID Cases Climb in WI

University of Wisconsin Health is asking Wisconsin residents to register as organ donors.  UW Health says April is Donate Life Month and it’s goal is to help people who need organ transplants increase their chances of getting them.  UW Health says there are about 15-hundred people in Wisconsin who need an organ transplant.
