Voting Open for Badger Craftsman Awards

Today, the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) launched voting for the 2022 Badger Craftsman Awards. Marshfield Man Facing Charges After Domestic Dispute

On Wednesday April 27th at approximately 3:11PM. the Marshfield Police Department responded to 1407 N. Peach Ave for a report a domestic disturbance. California Man Arrested for Targeting WI Children

Investigators say a California man accused of grooming kids for child porn has victims in Wisconsin. Authorities in Sacramento arrested 24-year-old Demetrius Davis this week. They say he created a fake social media profile, then convinced children in 11 states to send him sexually explicit pictures or videos. $1 Million Cash Bond Set

It was $1 million dollars requested and $1 million dollars cash bond set. Chippewa County prosecutor Wade Newell described the death of Iliana “Lily” Peters as “violent,” and added the teen punched the girl “in the stomach, knocked her to the ground” and “hit her with a stick” before the assault and murder.  The teen’s identity was not said during Wednesday’s court Police arrested a 14-year-old boy Tuesday, saying he knew Lily Peters and followed her as she left her

Reward Still Stands One Year Later

Authorities in Dunn County are remembering last year’s killing of 18 cats.  The Dunn County Humane Society says yesterday was the one year anniversary of the cats’ deaths. They were found along a gravel road near the Dunnville Bottoms last April. The Humane Society says no one has ever been arrested for the cats’ deaths. There remains a 10 thousand-dollar reward for information in the case.

Poll Shows Voters Turning Around

Voters in Wisconsin are starting to trust the state’s electoral process more. The latest Marquette Law School Poll shows 76 percent of Republicans and 96 percent of Democrats said they trusted the results of the April election. Just 67 percent of independent voters said the same thing. That’s much better than the 62 percent of Republicans and 38 percent of independent voters who say they continue to have no trust in the 2020 election in the state.

WI Sees Uptick in Coronavirus Hospitalizations

Wisconsin’s coronavirus hospitalization numbers are back over 200. The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said 212 people are now hospitalized with the virus, including 36 in the ICU. That 212 number is up 71 from a week ago. Wisconsin saw its coronavirus hospitalizations bottom-out last month with fewer than 150 people in the hospital with the virus. Search For UW Chancellor Narrows

Four of the five finalists for chancellor at UW-Madison are from out of state. The university released the list of finalists yesterday. Only Madison Provost John Karl Scholz is from the UW System. All five finalists will be on campus for in-person visits next week. Regents say they hope to have a final choice by the end of next month.

Gov. Evers Announces Grants For WI Businesses

Some Wisconsin dairy companies are getting financial assistance from the state.  Governor Tony Evers says 19 companies across the state are getting thousands of dollars in Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection Dairy Processor Grant money.  The money will be used to help those companies grow.
