Jaw Bone Identified As Human

The bone found in a Dunn County creek is human, but it is not new. Scientists at the state crime lab say the jawbone found in the creek in Menomonie is from an ancient Native American. There’s no exact date as to just how old the bone is. A pair of fishermen found the bone back in July. The state crime lab says it was likely only found because the water levels were so low at the time.

FBI Investigates String of Fake School Threats

It Takes Green To Go Green

A new report says Governor Evers’ push to be carbon-free by 2050 comes with a 250 billion-dollar price tag. The Center of the American Experiment released its report this week. The study looks at the cost associated with closing coal and natural gas power plants, as well as the cost to build new solar farms and wind turbines. High Court Rejects WILL Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear a challenge from Wisconsin to President Biden’s student loan cancellation plan. The high court yesterday rejected the appeal from the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, again saying the group doesn’t have the standing to sue. WILL challenged the president’s plans by saying President Biden overstepped his authority by ordering between 10 and 20 thousand-dollars worth of student loan debt canceled.

FBI Investigates String Of School Threats

The FBI says its getting a number of school threats today including multiple in Wisconsin, but says the threats aren’t credible.  An FBI spokesperson in Milwaukee says some of the calls were swatting calls, where a person calls in a fake shooting report to cause a large police presence.  Madison police say a school shooter was called in at Madison East High School this morning but the threat wasn’t credible.

On Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 10:13pm the Barron County 911 Center received a call of a one vehicle rollover on County Road U just south of Dallas. Children Caught in Milwaukee Violence

A child is the latest of Milwaukee shooting victims. Police say a 12-year-old was wounded in a shooting yesterday at 44th and Center. It happened about 7 p.m., officers say the boy is expected to survive. The shooting comes about a week after a 12-year-old girl was gunned down on the city’s northside.
